  you know today? How have social, historical,
  religious and ethical influences changed from his
  time to yours?
• Part I Create and write a catalog poem that
  describes America how you see it today. (20 pts)
• The first line of your poem I Hear America .
  (singing, whining, texting, etc.
• Catalogue items that make up your view of
  America, making sure you explain each just as
  Whitman did provide a scene.
• You may decorate your poster, or include visuals
  / photos for extra credit. (3 pts. extra will be
  added onto your project grade.)
• Use I Hear America Singing as an example.
  However, it is your perspective instead.
• Part II Using your catalog poem as inspiration,
  write a paragraph on the people and places that
  have influenced your life (experiences) and your
  view of America. (10 pts)
