Is Anyone Really Free?

• We live in the land of the free
• With freedom comes great responsibility
• What does it mean to be free in Christ?

Freedom In Christ

• Psalm 11945 -- I will walk about in freedom, for
  I have sought out your precepts.

• Luke 418 -- "The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
  because he has anointed me to preach good news to
  the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for
  the prisoners and recovery of sight for the
  blind, to release the oppressed. (Isaiah 611)

2 Corinthians 317

• Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit
  of the Lord is, there is freedom.

Freed for freedom not the flesh

• Galatians 51, 13 --It was for freedom that
  Christ set us free therefore keep standing firm
  and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.
  For you were called to freedom, brethren only
  do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for
  the flesh, but through love serve one another.

Not As A Cloak For Evil

• 1 Peter 216 --Act as free men, and do not use
  your freedom as a covering for evil, but use it
  as bondslaves of God.

We have been bought

• 1 Corinthians 619-20 -- Or do you not know that
  your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is
  in you, whom you have from God, and that you are
  not your own ? 20 For you have been bought with a
  price therefore glorify God in your body.

• Luke 177-10 --"Which of you, having a slavewill
  say to him 'Come immediately and sit down to
  eat'? 8 "But will he not say to him, 'Prepare
  something for me to eat, and properly clothe
  yourself and serve me while I eat "He does not
  thank the slave because he did the things which
  were commanded, does he? 10 "So you too, when you
  do all the things which are commanded you, say,
  'We are unworthy slaves we have done only that
  which we ought to have done.' "
