  1. Stanton Middle School has lots of students in the
    building.
  2. Homework can sometimes be hard.

Singular Nouns
  • A singular noun names one person, place, thing,
    or idea.
  • Example My sister, Angie, is older than me.
    (sister is a singular noun)

  • Names more than one person, place, thing, or
    idea.
  • Example I have two older sisters. (sisters is
    plural)

  • To form the plural of most singular nouns, add
    s.
  • Examples
  • painters museums shelters
  • events attitudes students

  • When a singular noun ends in s, sh, ch, x, or z,
    add (es).
  • Examples
