What are conic sections?

• Conic Sections cross section of a cone, or the
  intersection of a plane with a right circular
  cone.
• When this happens, four sections are found
• Circle
• Ellipse
• Hyperbola
• parabola

• Definition
• the set of all points in the plane that are
  equidistant from a given point in the plane
  called the center
• the distance from the center to any point on the
  circle is called the radius
