Title: Change the page layout to match the CNC machine
1Change the page layout to match the CNC machine
2Choose Roland Modela MDX-15 (multi)
3You might want to change the material size if you
dont need to use the whole area
4Double-click on the Grid icon to change the
grid spacing
5Set the grid spacing to 2.5mm and the step
spacing to 1.25mm
6It might be a good idea to draw a box, using the
rectangle tool, that sets the boundaries for your
PCB if you are not using the whole area
7In the example below the rectangle has been drawn
35mm tall and 60mm wide
8Click on the Line tool and then change the
thickness (using the Line style button) to 0.30mm
9Then change the line colour to blue using the
line colour button
10You can now use the line tool to draw out the
circuit diagram, leaving spaces for the components
11Click and hold the line icon and then select the
Draw a single point icon at the end
12Change the point thickness to 0.80mm and the
point colour to red (in the same way that you
changed the line to 0.3mm and blue)
13Use the point tool to draw dots in the places
where you want the CNC machine to drill the holes
14Using the select tool, select the whole of your
pcb and then click on the flip arrows to reverse
your design
15It is a good idea to print out your design to
check that the spacings are correct. Then save
into the Drop Zone, Design Technology,
Year9, Systems Control
