2JUDGMENTS TO COME
- Judgment of New Testament believers
- Judgment of the Gentile nations
- Judgment of Israel
- Judgment of Old Testament Tribulation saints
- Judgment of Satan fallen angels
- Judgment of Dead Unbelievers
3THE JUDGMENT SEAT
42 Corinthian 510 For we must all appear before
the judgment seat of Christ that every one may
receive the things done in his body, according to
that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
5Romans 1410 But why dost thou judge thy
brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy
brother? for we shall all stand before the
judgment seat of Christ.
6- The term JUDGMENT SEAT is a translation of the
Greek word Bema which places the emphasis on
the seat itself. - It makes reference to
- A raised place
- A platform
- A tribune
7- This Judgment will be FAIR FIRM!
- The judgment seat is unlike the court system of
the world or the local church. It will NOT be
based on - The preference of the Judge
- The persuasion of arguments
- The perception of a jury
8- This Judgment will be FAIR FIRM!
- according to that he hath done, whether it be
good or bad. (2 Cor. 510) - We will be judged based on what we have done
thats as fair as it gets! - No one will be unjustly rewarded or
punished - Everyone will receive a just recompense for his
labour
9This Judgment will be FAIR FIRM! Acts 1034
God is no respecter of persons Eph. 68-9
Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man
doeth, the same shall he receive of the
Lordknowing that your Master also is in heaven
neither is there respect of persons with him.
10This Judgment will be FAIR FIRM! Rom 211 For
there is no respect of persons with God. Col.
325 But he that doeth wrong shall receive for
the wrong which he hath done and there is no
respect of persons 1 Peter 117 And if ye call
on the Father, who without respect of persons
judgeth according to every man's work
11- What the Judgment Seat is NOT!
- NOT a judgment of your salvation
- NOT a judgment of your past sins
- NOT a judgment of ONLY bad things
- NOT a judgment of ONLY good things
- NOT a condemnation to hell
12- Other Judgments
- The judgment of the Cross
- Christ pronounced judgment on sin
- Christ paid the price for sin guilt
- A believer is no longer condemned
- (John 317, 524 Rom 81 Gal 313 Heb 928)
13- Other Judgments
- 2. The judgment of Chastisement
- This judgment deals with sin subsequent to
salvation - Disciplinary actions of God against a believer
that sins (sick, death, etc) - (Heb 123-13 1 Cor 55)
14- Other Judgments
- 3. The judgment of Character
- The believer judging himself
- If we examine ourselves God will not need to
- (1 Cor 1128-32)
15- What the Judgment Seat is!
- The purpose of the judgment seat is
- To reward Christians for services done
- To reprimand Christians for services neglected
- To reveal the quality of the life lived for
Christ - To be approved or commended by God
16Who will be judged? ? BELIEVERS! How do we know
that it is for believers? The biblical contexts
which speak of the Judgment Seat only refer to
believers. 2 Cor. 51-10 Rom. 141-15
17- 2 Cor. 51-10
- Note that chapter 5 is a continuation of an
exhortation to believers in the previous chapter. - (Ch 51-4) These verses speak of an earthly body
which will one day be changed to a glorified
body. this transformation is only exclusive to
believers. (1 Cor. 1549-53)
18- 2 Cor. 51-10
- (Vs.5) Only the believer is indwelt or sealed by
the Spirit. (Eph 113-14) - (Vs. 6 8) Only the believer has the promise
assurance of being present with the Lord. - (Vs. 7) It is definitely the believer that walks
by faith.
19- Romans 148-10
- The context dictates from as early as verse one
that it was referring to believers (weak in
faith). - (Vs. 8-10) These verses use terms that indicate
relationship with God and fellow believers (We
are the Lords brother)
20- Who will be the judge? ? JESUS!
- How do we know that it will be Jesus?
- The mere fact that it is called the Judgment
Seat of Christ is a giveaway. Though it is
obvious, it should not be overlooked as a factor
for proving that Jesus Christ will be the Judge.
(Rom 1410 2 Cor 510)
21- Jesus is given the authority to judge
- John 522- 27
- Acts 1731
- Matt 2531- 40
- Rom 216
- 1 Cor 41-5
22- WHAT WILL WE BE JUDGED FOR?
- How we treat people (Matt 1041-42)
- 2. How much we suffer for Jesus (Matt 511-12
Mark 1029-30 Rom 818 2 Cor 417) - 3. How we run the race of life Incorruptible
Crown (1 Cor 924-27 Phil 313-14)
23WHAT WILL WE BE JUDGED FOR? 4. How many souls we
win to Christ Crown of Rejoicing (1Thess
219-20) 5. How we endure trials temptations
Crown of Life (James112 Rev 210) 6. How we
kept the faith / love his appearing Crown of
Righteousness (2 Tim 47-8)
24WHAT WILL WE BE JUDGED FOR? 7. How we serve
lead the church Crown of Glory (1 Peter
51-4) 8. The quality of work we do Two-Fold (a)
Good Rewards (1 Cor 313-14) (b)

26JUDGMENT OF GENTILES
- After Jesus returns to the earth He will judge
those Gentiles who made it through the
tribulation alive. - ? These Gentiles will be gathered in the valley
of Jehoshaphat (a place near Jerusalem) to
determine their spiritual condition. Their
spiritual condition will be revealed partly by
how they treat Israel.
27JUDGMENT OF GENTILES
- The Gentiles who are found to be righteous
(otherwise called the sheep) will be welcomed
into the kingdom. - ? The Gentiles who are found to be unrighteous
(otherwise called the goats) will be sent away
to everlasting punishment.
28JUDGMENT OF GENTILES
? The saved Gentiles will enter the kingdom in
their earthly bodies and will be a part of
repopulating the earth during the millennial
kingdom.
29JUDGMENT OF GENTILES
JOEL 31-3, 11-16 In the previous chapters God
described the desolation of the land of Israel
and the state of His people. But He does so to
set the stage for the repentance and restoration
of Israel. God promises them better days to come
and a deliverance from their current
circumstances. Joel Chapter three (3) is both
the fulfillment of Gods promise to Israel
judgment for the Gentile nations.
30JUDGMENT OF GENTILES
JOEL 31-3, 11-16 Vs. 1 A promise to restore
Judah Jerusalem Vs. 2 All nations will be
gathered and God will argue a case against them
on the behalf of Israel. Valley of Jehoshaphat
No such valley in Judah so the name must be
symbolic, most likely somewhere near Jerusalem.
It is symbolic of the judgment of God.
31JUDGMENT OF GENTILES
JOEL 31-3, 11-16 Vs. 3 The other nations
gambled sold the Israelites into slavery
other demeaning things. Young boys girls were
sold as prostitutes not even for money, but wine.
A Jew was not worth much.
32JUDGMENT OF GENTILES
JOEL 31-3, 11-16 Vs. 11-13 A harvest of divine
vengeance will be unleashed. They will be ripe
for the picking. Vs. 14 Valley of decision
valley of doom, same as valley of Jehoshaphat.
Reiterating the certainty of doom.
33JUDGMENT OF GENTILES
Zechariah 141-11, 16-19 Zechariah chapter 14
begins with a description of the destruction of
Jerusalem by other nations (vs. 1-2). Christ
shall fight against the nations on behalf of the
Jewish remnant when the battle is over He will
gather the Gentile nations for judgment (vs.
3-5).
34JUDGMENT OF GENTILES
Zechariah 141-11, 16-19 Zech. 14 4 5 speak
of a valley which may be referring to the
valley of Jehoshaphat mentioned in Joel 312, 14.
Christ shall set up his Kingdom with Jerusalem
as the worship center. Any nation which fails to
worship Him pay homage at Jerusalem, He will
judge them (vs. 16-19).
35JUDGMENT OF GENTILES
- MATTHEW 2531-46
- These verses describe a different type of
appearing of Jesus. - (Compare it and the rapture in 1 Thess. 413-18)
- It does not resemble the rapture!
36Comparison of Matthew 25 1 Thessalonians
MATTHEW 25 Jesus will bring his angels (2) Jesus will sit on his throne (3) Jesus will come to judge (4) Jesus will separate them (5) Jesus will remain awhile (6) There will be two different set of persons going in two different directions 1 THESSALONIANS 4 Jesus will bring his saints Jesus will be in the air Jesus will come to collect Jesus will unite all saints Jesus will return to heaven There will be two similar set of persons going in one direction
37JUDGMENT OF GENTILES
MATTHEW 2531-46 Jesus is making another
entrance for something else the passage
indicates judgment. It is not the judgment seat
because unrighteous, unbelievers are involved.
It is not the Great White Throne because
righteous people are there too. WHAT KIND OF
JUDGMENT IS IT THEN?
38JUDGMENT OF GENTILES
- MATTHEW 2531-46
- The passage is an indication of Jesus coming
down to judge the earth in particular those
that are alive in that dispensation. The JEWS
will also have a separate judgment, so it is not
likely to be them either. - SO WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE?
39JUDGMENT OF GENTILES
- MATTHEW 2531-46
- The category of persons narrows down to the
unrighteous (the unbelieving Gentiles) and the
righteous (those who turned to God after the
rapture). - There is a separation of sheep goats, so we
cannot deny that some (the sheep) entered the
kingdom others (the goats) were condemned.

designation God's own appointing for his temple
and presence. Of the height, - lower than
many other hills, yet was above them all for
God's peculiar presence. When God brings them
into the land, then He will require offerings as
in former days.
56JUDGMENT OF THE JEWS
Ezekiel 2030-44 Vs. 41 bring you out from the
People- the same words as in verse 34 but here
applied to separation from the heathens, as well
as identifying the elect here restricted to the
saved remnant, who alone shall be at last
restored literally and spiritually in the fullest
sense.
57JUDGMENT OF THE JEWS
Ezekiel 2030-44 Vs. 43-44 After they have felt

58JUDGMENTS TO COME

- Judgment of Tribulation saints
- Judgment of Satan fallen angels

59JUDGMENT OF TRIBULATION SAINTS
Souls will be saved during the great tribulation
period. These persons chose God instead of
succumbing to the pressure of the devil and the
anti-Christ. They will suffer die for the
cause of Jesus Christ hence He has a special
reward for them.
60JUDGMENT OF TRIBULATION SAINTS
Revelation 7 9-14 Vs. 11 The saints along with
celestial beings join in worshipping God. Four
beasts were living creatures who worshipped
around the throne (Rev. 4 6-8)
61JUDGMENT OF TRIBULATION SAINTS
Revelation 7 9-14 Vs. 13-14 A conversation
between John and one of the elders confirms that
the saints came out of the great tribulation and
are saved by the blood of Jesus Christ.
62JUDGMENT OF TRIBULATION SAINTS
Revelation 20 4-6 Vs. 4 At the beginning of
the millennial reign the saints will be given
thrones to sit on and judge the world along
with Christ. (Daniel 722 27) These saints
also include the church (Matt. 1928 1 Cor.

63JUDGMENT OF TRIBULATION SAINTS
Revelation 20 4-6 Vs. 5 The remainder of the
dead were not restored to life because they were
not saints. They did not belong to that first
resurrection which was only intended for the
saints.
64JUDGMENT OF TRIBULATION SAINTS
Revelation 20 4-6 Vs. 6 This verse confirms
that the saints will reign with Christ in the
millennium. Those who were not a part of that
first resurrection, will be resurrected for
judgment condemnation (called the 2nd death or
2nd resurrection).
65JUDGMENTS TO COME
- Judgment of New Testament believers
- Judgment of the Gentile nations
- Judgment of Israel
- Judgment of Tribulation saints
- Judgment of Satan fallen angels
- Judgment of Dead Unbelievers
66JUDGMENT OF FALLEN ANGELS
There is a judgment reserved for the fallen
angels (2 Peter 24, Jude 6). Scripture is not
specific about when or how the fallen angels will
be judged. However we are certain that Christians
will take part in their judgment (1 Cor. 63)
that the lake of fire is their final destination
(Matt 2541).
67JUDGMENT OF FALLEN ANGELS
2 Peter 24 Cast them down to hell (TARTARUS)
- In Greek mythology Tartarus was the lower part,
or abyss of Hades, where the shades of the wicked
were supposed to be imprisoned and tormented. It
refers to a place of punishment, which was dark,
dismal gloomy.
68JUDGMENT OF FALLEN ANGELS
2 Peter 24 Chains of darkness Where darkness
lies like chains upon them. It may be still true
that the mass are confined within the limits of
their dark abode. They are condemned to a dungeon
of darkness, to be reserved unto the judgment of
the great day but with the ability to roam
around at the same time doomed as creatures of
the darkness.
69JUDGMENT OF FALLEN ANGELS
Jude verse 6 kept not their first estate The
word rendered estate is principality. The word
properly means, beginning, commencement that
which surpasses others, in point of rank and
honour. Here it refers to the rank and dignity
which the angels had in heaven. The rank or
office they did not keep, but fell from it.
70JUDGMENT OF FALLEN ANGELS
Jude verse 6 left their own habitation Heaven
was their native abode or dwelling-place they
became dissatisfied with their abode, and
voluntarily preferred to be somewhere else. These
angels became discontented with their condition,
and refused to do the will of God, in the place
assigned to them.
71JUDGMENT OF FALLEN ANGELS
Jude verse 6 reserved in everlasting chains
under darkness They are restricted to the
darkness of their abode and/or this present
world. They lurk in places of gloom and death,
looking with agonizing fear as condemned
prisoners who await their final doom.
72JUDGMENT OF SATAN
Revelation 2010 This verse accounts for the
final judgment of Satan where he will be cast
into the lake of fire forever. Note that his
angels are not mentioned along with him, but it
is logical to deduce that since it was prepared
for Satan his angels, they will eventually end
up there so possibly they were cast in at the
same time as Satan.

75DESTRUCTION OF EARTH HEAVENS
Revelation 2011 Before the Great White Throne
judgment the earth and heavens will be destroyed.
It is believed that the third heaven where God
dwells is excluded from this destruction as where
God is does not need renovation. The other two
heavens the atmospheric galactic (starry)
heavens are most likely the ones to be destroyed.
76DESTRUCTION OF EARTH HEAVENS
- Note the similarity in Heb. 110-12 Rev.
2011 on how the earth heavens are removed. -
2 Peter 37, 10-13 accounts for the fiery
destruction of the elements of the earth and
heavens.
77THE GREAT WHITE THRONE JUDGMENT
REVELATION 2011-15 THE SECOND DEATH THE
FINAL JUDGMENT
78THE GREAT WHITE THRONE JUDGMENT
Vs. 12 The dead, small great Dead refers to
the physically dead as well as spiritually dead
(Unregenerate) Unbelievers from every rank,
degree, race, class status since time began,
were brought before God.
79THE GREAT WHITE THRONE JUDGMENT
- Vs. 12 THE BOOKS There were two Sets of
books - The books of works!
- The book of life!
80(No Transcript)
81THE GREAT WHITE THRONE JUDGMENT
Vs. 12 The books of works Which is the books
of reckoning the testimony of their conscience,
actions their works. The books contain the
records of human deeds by which they will be
judged. Each person will get what they deserve.
82THE GREAT WHITE THRONE JUDGMENT
Vs. 13 The sea, death hell gave up the dead
The sea and death have the bodies of all human
beings Hell (Hades) has their spirits/souls.
Death is here personified, and represented as a
keeper of dead bodies probably no more than
earth or the grave is meant.
83THE GREAT WHITE THRONE JUDGMENT
Vs. 13 The sea, death hell gave up the dead
Their bodies and souls/spirits will be
reunited that they may be judged according to
their works. Hell therefore gives up the
spirits/souls and the sea and death (earth) give
up the bodies.
84THE GREAT WHITE THRONE JUDGMENT
Vs. 14 Death hell cast into Death was
now abolished, and the place for separate spirits
(hell) was no longer needful. All dead bodies and
separated souls were rejoined, consequently the
existence of death hell was no longer
necessary. (1 Cor. 1526, 55)
85Death Hell
86THE GREAT WHITE THRONE JUDGMENT
Vs. 14 The second death The first death
consisted in the separation of the soul from the
body for a season the second death in the
separation of body and soul from God for ever.
The first death is that from which there may be a
resurrection the second death is that from which
there can be no recovery.
87THE GREAT WHITE THRONE JUDGMENT
Vs. 14 The second death By the first
death the body is destroyed during time by the
second death, both body and soul are destroyed
through eternity.
88THE GREAT WHITE THRONE JUDGMENT
Vs. 15 The book of life The book which
contains the names of those who are to live with
God for ever. The names of his people are thus
represented as enrolled in a book which God keeps
as a register of those who inherit eternal life.
89THE GREAT WHITE THRONE JUDGMENT
Vs. 15 Not found lake of fire The book
of life will determine who goes into the lake of
fire not the books of works. Their names are
not in the book because they reject Gods
salvation by the same token God will reject
them.
