Developmental Research Program

• 1. To provide funding for pilot developmental
  research projects
• 2. To provide excellent and well-trained mentors
  to junior investigators
• 3. To provide interim evaluation of projects and
  mentors

Research Training and Career Development Program

• 1. To develop and implement three career
  development training tracks 1) Community-Based
  Participatory Research 2) Cancer Control and
  Population Science and 3) Basic Science in
  Cancer Research.
• 2. To conduct a graduate student summer research
  training program
• 3. To develop and implement a Summer Institute
  conference for Partnership investigators,
  graduate trainees, postgraduate students, junior
  faculty, pilot project awardees, and others
  interested in cancer research

Recruitment and Retention Shared Resource

• To continue to support the MSM Recruitment and
  Retention Shared Resource via continued training
  and the further development of 3PAR data tracking
  system and assisting in the development of
  newsletters and recruitment plans.

Bioethics Shared Resource

• The overall aim of the Bioethics Core is to
  ensure that bioethics informs all partnership
  activities, especially bioethical issues
  pertinent to minorities and underserved
  communities, with a special focus on cancer.

Biostatistics Shared Resource

• To provide statistical consultation and
  collaborative support for pilot developmental
  projects
• To provide biostatistical mentorship to junior
  investigators
• To offer courses in the Research Training and
  Career Development Program ( biostatistics,
  epidemiology, clinical trials, and
  bioinformatics)
• To participate in the community-based
  participatory programs by developing an website
  to disseminate pertinent information related to
  each program
• To enhance biostatistical support capabilities at
  MSM and TU
