    you took home.

  • Make observations of the 5 vials.
  • Note any changes and draw them on the Five
    Materials Observation sheet.
  • If there is no change, you should record NO
    CHANGE.

  • Liquid 2 is sugar and water. The sugar was added
    to provide food in case any of the materials was
    alive and need sugar as food.
  • Did any of the vials with sugar water provide any
    interesting results?

  • Material B is yeast. The bubbling and possible
    popping of the cap are the result of gas exchange
    going on in the vial. Gas exchange is evidence
    of life. The yeast is alive.
