Title: Exploring Defense Strategies: Camouflage

1
Exploring Defense Strategies Camouflage
The more an organism resembles its surroundings,
the less likely it is that a predator will notice
it. Some animals, such as flounder (a fish),
cuttlefish, and chameleons (a reptile) can even
change their colors to match a variety of
settings.
The cuttlefish is closely related to the squid
and has the ability to change its color to match
its surroundings - look at how much harder it is
to see him in the bottom picture!
2
Exploring Defense Strategies Camouflage
Some insects have evolved remarkable body parts
that look very much like leaves, twigs and
seaweed to help them blend into their
surroundings. Wouldnt you be surprised if a
leaf you suddenly touched began to fly away?
Check out these wild leaf insects!
Find the walking stick bug!
Meet the Leafy Sea Dragon!
