1The Importance of Family
- By Wilder Francone and Rachel Alfano
2In afghan family structure, the respect goes to
the older people in the family and divorce is
unexcceptable. Men with more than one wife have
each of their wives live in separate bedrooms but
the wives still cook and clean all together.
Multiple wives is still allowed but not as common
as it used to be but if a man first wife cannot
have a son the husband is allowed to marry again.

32 The most important things in families is
respect for ones elders. The women should have an
eagerness to have children especially boys. They
honor the ideals of a family unit like
cohesiveness and that the family can function as
a support system.
4The women serve their husbands and care for their
children. The women also do household chores such
as cooking and cleaning. The women must show
eagerness to have kids especially a boy. The
women must obey the husband and are only allowed
to do things if asking permission and if she is
going out she must be fully covered.

5The man of the house leaves for daily jobs, they
are the ones who bring home the money. The father
hopes for children but most of all a son because
the father wants the family strength to be
carried out In the son. The men are allowed to go
out and roam freely because the men are
considered as the dominators of the family.
