  • When a conflict is being solved through

  • In peer mediation programs, student mediators
    help other students solve their conflicts.

The mediator determines that both sides agree to
mediation.
The mediator goes over the rules.
The mediator restates what each person has said
to make sure it is correct.
The mediator tries to identify what the conflict
is and asks each person if he or she agrees.
The mediator looks for things that both people
want.
The mediator asks each side to offer possible
solutions.
When an agreement is reached, the students in
conflict sign a document.

When Conflicts Get Out of Hand
  • Sometimes, teens in a conflict get angry and
    dont understand how to manage their emotions.
  • By noticing the warning signs that a conflict is
    getting out of hand, you may be able to stop the
    conflict from escalating into violence.
