2What is the Lets Get Healthy! fair?
- An education and research exhibit
- Education -- you will learn about your health and
get tailored feedback based on your results - Research The collected data are used by
scientists, students and schools. You will be
informed about your rights as a research
participant. - Everything is anonymous you will be given a
barcode bracelet at the fair
3At the fair, you will receive.
- A barcode wristband
- and
- An activity booklet to track your progress
4Then you scan in and begin!
Every time you visit a different station, you
will scan yourself just like a grocery clerk
scans groceries. Listen for the beep and you
know you have done it right. If it doesnt
beep try holding it further away from the
barcode.
5Begin by answering 5 basic questions
- Age
- Gender
- Race
- Ethnicity
- Enter your unique code from the pre-fair survey.
Instructions are provided. - The material you receive and your health
recommendations are tailored for you based on
your age and gender.

7Diet Assessment Survey
- 5-7 minute diet screener that tells you your
- fruit vegetable intake
- dairy intake
- added sugars

- Learn about your body measurements (height,
weight, BMI, body fat, waist circumference) - Everything done behind a privacy screen
- Receive immediate feedback about how you compare
to national recommendations. Recommendations
change every month until youre 20!

behaviors. - Video game about UV exposure
- Mole microscope
- For 13 and over, breast cancer education (not at

- Computer game that asks individuals to remember
the order and location that blocks are
highlighted. More and more blocks are added on
successive levels - Test measures visuospatial memory. (If youve
ever lost your keys and had to retrace your
steps, this is very similar!)
