• Onto the STEM of the verb you add the appropriate
  ending according to the SUBJECT (conjugated
  forms)
• Yo (1st person singular) querer (inifinitive)
• Drop the ending er ? quer
• Stem-change e ? ie
• Add the 1st person singular ending -0

PREFERIR a stem-changing verb

• In stem-changing verbs, the endings stay the
  same!
• But there is a vowel change in the STEM in
  certain instances.

How it changes

• When you conjugate the verb preferir, the second
  e changes to ie in all forms EXCEPT
  nosotros(as) vosotros(as).
