• He resigned from the position of Home Secretary
  in 1847
• Since he attended Oxford University, he became a
  Member of Parliament for the university 1847-1865

Last Days

• He was thrown from his horse who then fell on top
  of him June 29, 1850
• Died three days later at the age of 62 from his
  injuries.
