• The nucleus divides to form 2 identical nuclei
• Growth-ex. Skin growth

• The division of the cell nucleus to produce sex
  cells (gametes)
• Takes place in the cells of reproductive organs
  in both plants and animals
• Reproduction- sperm and eggs
• Each has ½ of the genetic information.
