• Jesus desire was to see his followers unified.
• What prevents us from obtaining and maintaining
  unity in the church?

Spiritual Amputation

• I Corinthians 1212-20
• The church has been set up just like the human
  body. Why do some of the members amputate
  themselves and limit their use?

• Apathy
• People dont have an urgent need to get involved.
  They are willing to play the role of Christian
  but not get involved in Gods family.
• God wants our best not the rest!
• From the beginning of time, God has wanted our
  best.
• Abel provided his best while Cain just went
  through the motions.

• Are you involved in the work of the church?
• Are you making sure your portion of the body of
  Christ is functioning as it should?

I Want It My Way

• Selfishness contributes to the breaking of unity
  in Gods family.
• We want what we want when we want it and we want
  it done our way.
• We need to realize that we are here to fulfill
  Gods desire, not to fulfill our own.
• There is absolutely no room for selfishness in
  Gods family.

The Tongue Trap

• How can we work together as a family when we
  spend time gossiping about our brothers and
  sisters?
• We have become very good at trivializing gossip.
  It isnt something to be taken lightly.
• People get hurt by gossip in the world.
• They dont need to get hurt by gossip in the
  church.
• We need to build up and not tear down.

The Solution

• We have heard and read the solution we just have
  to live it!
• If we focus on God and what he has done for us,
  we wont be apathetic or selfish. We will be
  humbled and motivated to share his grace.
• If we truly love our neighbor as ourselves, we
  wont gossip or tear others down.
• We will protect, encourage, and love them.
