2You Must Have A Prepared Hope! 3 Praise be to
the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In
his great mercy he has given us new birth into a
living hope through the resurrection of Jesus
Christ from the dead, 4 and into an inheritance
that can never perish, spoil or fade. This
inheritance is kept in heaven for you, 5 who
through faith are shielded by Gods power until
the coming of the salvation that is ready to be
revealed in the last time. 6 In all this you
greatly rejoice, though now for a little while
you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of
trials. 7 These have come so that the proven
genuineness of your faithof greater worth than
gold, which perishes even though refined by fire
may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus
Christ is revealed. 8 Though you have not seen
him, you love him and even though you do not see
him now, you believe in him and are filled with
an inexpressible and glorious joy, 9 for you are
receiving the end result of your faith, the
salvation of your souls.

You Must Have A Heart To Stand Up For
Righteousness 19 Then some Jews came from
Antioch and Iconium and won the crowd over. They
stoned Paul and dragged him outside the city,
thinking he was dead. 20 But after the disciples
had gathered around him, he got up and went back
into the city. The next day he and Barnabas left
for Derbe. The Return to Antioch in Syria 21 They
preached the gospel in that city and won a large
number of disciples. Then they returned to
Lystra, Iconium and Antioch, 22 strengthening the
disciples and encouraging them to remain true to
the faith. We must go through many hardships to
enter the kingdom of God, they said.
71 Peter 219-23
We Are Called To A Life Of Christ 19 For
it is commendable if someone bears up under the
pain of unjust suffering because they are
conscious of God. 20 But how is it to your credit
if you receive a beating for doing wrong and
endure it? But if you suffer for doing good and
you endure it, this is commendable before God. 21
To this you were called, because Christ suffered
for you, leaving you an example, that you should
follow in his steps. 22 He committed no sin,
and no deceit was found in his mouth.a 23
When they hurled their insults at him, he did not
retaliate when he suffered, he made no threats.
Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges
justly.
