A self-replicating program that spreads by
inserting copies of itself into other executable
code or documents.

• Causes application failure

• Non-Resident
• Immediately infects host and targets new hosts
  during application

• Lies in the background without causing immediate
  infection
• Finds new hosts without affecting the application
