The alkyd resins could be dried to films with in
150-180 mins. and exhibited reasonably good
pencil and scratch hardness. RSO could be used to
substitute drying oils in alkyd resins.
Rubber seed oil reacted with phthalic anhydride,
glycerol and trimethylol propoane employing the
alcoholysis technique using KOH and lead(II)
oxide as catalyst to get alkyd resins.
