• ocean salts, mold, plant pollens, forest fires,
  soil erosion, dust storms, volcanic materials.

Pollutants caused by HUMANS

• MOST OF POLLUTION IS from HUMANS
• Burning fossil fuels
• (coal, oil, gas, and diesel)
• ½ from cars and motor vehicles
• ¼ from factories and power plants

SMOG(1905) SMOKE and FOG

• London Type smog coal particles and water
  droplets in humid air. RARE TODAY!
• Photochemical SMOG
• Sunlight Chemicals in Atmosphere
• causes breathing problems, hurts plants,
  damages rubber,paint and plastics

ACID RAIN

• Nitrogen Oxide in atmosphere water
• Turns into NITRIC ACID
• Or
• Sulfur oxide in atmosphere water
• Turns into SULFURIC ACID
• Precipitation carries acid from air to trees,
  lakes and buildings!!
