Why do we do mental math?

• Well, we dont always have a calculator.
• Sometime we just need to make a quick estimate.
• How would you know if you were overcharged at a
  restaurant?
• Taking a trip to Magic Mountain do you have
  enough money for gas, admission and food? Will
  there be money be left over?

• First you need a piece of paper and a pencil.
• Please write your name, date and class at the
  top.
• Mental math isnt about your hand its about your
  head.
• Its fine if you find a few of them difficult! If
  you cant get an exact answer make an estimate.
