4The first sentence is called the Topic Sentence,

5The topic sentence (TS) of a paragraph introduces
the paragraph and tells the reader the main idea
of the paragraph.
6The second sentence in the paragraph (SS) is
called a supporting sentence. The supporting
sentence gives a detail about the main idea being
expressed in the paragraph.

8Each paragraph will have 3 supporting sentences
which will be followed by a concrete illustration
(CI). The concrete illustration gives details or
examples about the supporting sentence in the
paragraph. There will also be 3 concrete
illustrations in a paragraph.
