    various ARES Web sites
  • Commonly broken up into levels that build on each
    other

  • Our course Personal and Family Preparedness has
    the following levels
  • Level 1 Items to carry all the time
  • Level 2 Equipment, comfort and safety
  • Level 3 PPE (Personal Protection Equipment)

Go Kit - Three Levels Which Build on Each Other
  • Level I Carried at all times suggestions
  • Cell phone or pager (if used for alerting)
  • Drivers license
  • Cash (phones, vending machines, etc.)
  • HT FCC license copy
  • Small flashlight (AA Mini MagLite, Lithium LED
    Inova X5, etc.)
  • Utility pocketknife
  • Lighter or matches
  • Eyeglasses (if needed for close work)

    acid, etc.)
  • Antenna with mounts (mag, roll up, Tigertail,
    etc.)
  • Ziploc bag for radio (wet weather)
  • External microphone or speaker mic
