- Striking against objects typically occurs when a
person is not paying attention. - Bumping into objects such as closed doors,
doorframes, desks, filing cabinets, and other
protruding objects may easily occur and cause
injuries.

opening or sticking items in equipment.

- Keep your work area clean and orderly.
- Keep all aisles and floors clear of tripping
hazards. - Clean up spills immediately.
- Eliminate electric cords and wires from walkways.
8- Do not run electric cords under carpeting.
- Avoid excessive bending, twisting, rolling, and
leaning backward while seated. - Pay attention to where you are walking and what
you are doing at all times. - Unplug cords before opening or sticking items in
equipment.

attach computer electrical cords. - If computer is on, do not unplug cords from
electrical outlets. - Do not use computers during times of lightning.
- Do not use extension cords to connect computer to

- Use BC not ABC fire extinguisher.

- Do not open a monitor even when it is unplugged.
- Never open the CPU housing while it is plugged to
an outlet. Unplug and then repair.

- Use larger screens for continual work.
- Desktops are preferred over laptops for continued

Caused by Long-Term Keyboarding?
- Try the following simple exercises to reduce
stress and fatigue

23Back Start with the arms bent, hands near chest
area, and push elbows back. Hold for 5 seconds,
then relax. Repeat several times. You can also
raise arms in the same fashion, this time close
to the shoulders, to work out the upper back.
24Head and Neck Turn head slowly from one side to
the other, holding each turn for 3 seconds.
Repeat several times.
25Wrists Hold your hands out in front of you.
Slowly raise and lower your hands to stretch the
muscles in the forearm. Repeat several times.
26Fingers and Hands Make a tight fist. Hold for
a second. Then spread your fingers apart as far
as you can. Hold for 5 seconds, then relax.
Repeat several times.

- Take your backpack/purse no time for packing
- Exit through the outside door by the teachers
desk - Quietly go onto the grass area across the road,
toward Whitthorne - Stay together until an administrator or teacher
gives you instructions to re-enter the building
