Self-Government in the Russian Federation

It is non- governmental organization which unites
municipalities of Sankt Petersburg

• Includes 111 municipalities of Sankt-Petersburg
• 81 municipal districts
• 9 towns
• 21 villages

Council of municipalities is governed by
Presidium, which is formed by elected
representatives of 18 districts of
Saint-Petersburg

Goals of organization

• To promote interaction of local authorities with
  state authorities

• To support citizens initiations in the sphere of
  local self-government
• and to develop the civil society

• To develop inter-municipal cooperation in order
  to uphold and to defend
• the interests of local self-government of
  Sankt-Petersburg
• on national and international levels

• To contribute to the effective social and
  economical development
• of Sankt-Petersburg
