    paper to document information.
  • Works Cited uses MLA (Modern Language
    Association) style.

    Cited entry
  • 1. Name of author
  • 2. Title of work
  • 3. Publishing Company
  • 4. Place of publication
  • 5. Year of publication

  • A Database is a collection of information
    arranged so that it is easy to search for a
    specific topic.

  • It is important to remember that each of these
    sources has its own formula to follow for setting
    up a Works Cited entry.

How to create a Works Cited page
  • Works Cited
  • (centered on page, no italics or )
  • 1. 12 pt font, Times New Roman
  • 2. Entries in alphabetical order
  • 3. Double space all entries
  • 4. Hanging indentation if entry goes beyond 1
    line
  • LIKE THIS!

  • 5. Need to follow specific formulas for whatever
    type of source you are using (book, webpage,
    etc.)
  • 6. Pay attention to punctuation!!!
  • 7. Always go first with AUTHOR-if no author,
    then go to second item in entry- TITLE
  • 8. Publication Medium Print or Web

  • Many web pages will not have an author!
  • Use N.p. (no publisher) or n.d. (no date) if the
    publisher name or publishing date is not given,
    but you will always need to CHECK WITH TEACHER
    before you write this!!!!!
