    their pollen mixed together.
  • This created a hybrid fruit.

  • A farmer in Jamaica called this new fruit
    grapefruit because of the way it grew in
    clusters, like grapes, but on a tree.

Tasting Trio- Spicy Grapefruit
  • Ingredients
  • One 20 ounce can of grapefruit in 100 juice
  • 1 pound bag of diced jicama
  • ¼ teaspoon chili powder
  • Preparation
  • Drain grapefruit, reserving ¼ cup of the juice.
  • Add all ingredients into a large mixing bowl and
    gently toss together.
  • Place into bowls for each group.
  • Each student puts 2 tablespoons in a small cup.
  • Eat immediately.
