Title: The Stone Age by: Alex Nikodym
1The Stone Age by Alex Nikodym
- The beginning of the human life. No energy, no
metal, no nothing. How do they survive?
2These are some of the only tools they made. The
bottom tools were used to hunt with, and the
top tools were used to grind up their food. But
there were many different tools they used during
all of the eras.
3Men hunted in groups to kill things such as
wild- deer, mammoth, birds and wild meat eaters.
While they hunted, the women would gather things
such as berries, nuts and plants that were
edible.
4ERAS
There are three eras. Their names are the
Paleolithic era Mesolithic era Neolithic era
5 Paleolithic
This is the first era of the three.
The Homo Habilis lived during this time and
they used stone tools.
6 Mesolithic
This era is a little different because the Homo
Erectus used bone tools instead of stone
tools. This is the second era out of the three
and the Homo Erectus lived during this era.
7 Neolithic
In this era, the Homo Sapiens lived and made
wooden handle bars for other tools like bone or
stone. Sadly, this era ended right before metal
was introduced.
8Now we are going to talk about the people who
lived during these times and what they did to
survive.
First up is the homo habilis. These people lived
about 2.5 million years ago. They also roamed
Africa. They used stone tools, nothing else.
They have half the size of our brain. Their
nickname is the Handyman.
9 Next on our list is the homo
erectus.
They roamed Africa about 1.5 to 2.0 million
years ago. They left Africa and went to
Europe, and Asia. They made the ax and learned
how to control fire! Their nickname is Upright
Man.
10 Lastly on our long list is the homo sapiens.
They lived about 200,000 years ago and they also
learned to not only control fire but to make it
on there own without a natural source! They used
more advanced tools. They actually developed
language not just grunts or hand signals. We are
still the homo sapiens if you want to get
technical.
