3With Over 48 Different locations and 2000
apartment unitsHow can we provide services to
all these families with our current staffing?
4We cant without partnering and collaborating
with other agencies. This creates on environment
that does not allow duplication of services in
one area.
5Where do we get funding?
- HUD Service Coordinator Program
- HUD Transitional Housing Program (Through County
Continuum of Care) - Neighborworks America Grant
- CSBG
- Enterprise Foundation
- Emergency Homeless Housing Grant (Through County
Continuum of Care) - Fannie Mae Foundation
- Private Funding
- Homeless Housing Assistance Corporation
6- Why is it so challenging to obtain funding for
Resident Services? - Some states will not allow resident services
expenses to be an above the line operating
expense. - Historically it has been challenging to quantify
outcomes.
7Partnering
- Partnering allows us to provide services to
individuals who may not have received services
otherwise.
8What does partnering look like?
- Utilizing funding from Homeless Housing
Assistance Corporation. - Collaborating with local municipalities to
provide homeless housing in specific units. - Utilizing housing funds from HUD to provide
transitional housing to homeless individuals.
9What does collaboration look like?
- Agreements executed with local non-profits to
provide services to clients while residing in our
units. Services are then extended to all
residents who live in that apartment community.
10What is needed to provide services?
- Clear definition of roles of property manager and
service coordinator. - Clear communication of each role to the
residents. - Resources for documentation such as internal and
external referral forms, release of information
forms and intake forms.
