Brittany is a cultural region in the north-west
of France. It is bordered by the English Channel
to the north, the Celtic Sea and the Atlantic
Ocean to the west, and the Bay of Biscay to the
south. Its land area is 34,023 km² (13,136 sq
mi).
The symbol of Britanny is a black and white flag.
French is spoken throughout Brittany. The
regional language is Breton - a Celtic language.
Brittany is a fascinating mix of spectacular
coastline, ancient towns, magical islands and
inland woods.
Britanny is open to the world !
3Lannion is situated in the Cotes-d'Armor
department in the Brittany region. It is 426 km
from Paris. Lannion is a large port town around
the estuary of the River Léguer and just a few
kilometres south of the Granite Rose coast.
It is the center of an urban area of almost
60,000 inhabitants. It is a lively, modern town
which generates much of its wealth by the
important role it plays in the telecommunications
research industry, and has an interesting
historic centre.
4Lyçée Collège St-Joseph, Lannion, France
The school is composed of a"collège" with 850
students and a "lyçée" with 400 students. It was
founded more than a century ago (1907).
The school starts at 8 am and finishes at 4.30 pm.
Students study ten subjects Maths, French,
History, Physics, Biology, Arts,English,
Spanish, German or Italian, Technology, P.E
(physical education).

They have lunch at 11.30 or 12.00. It is one
hour long. They can have a hot or cold starter,
a main dish vegetables, meat, fish, pasta, rice,
chips, mashed potatoes cheese and dessert, water.
On Wednesday afternoons they have
extra-curricular activities football, athletics,
gymnatics. At breaks, boys play football and
girls chat on a bench. They can also work in the
school library, play chess, do sports (badminton,
football, table tennis, basketball) or make
jewels.
