as you learn that America is a country that has
always embraced people from many different
cultures.

Have you ever wondered how Columbus was able to
navigate the Atlantic Ocean and start the
immigration of people to America? When you study
the magnetism, you can find the answer to this
question!

Did you know that America is referred to as a
melting pot? This six weeks, you can discover
why people call America a melting pot by learning
about the explorers that came from Europe and the
immigration of the late 1800s and early 1900s.

As well as looking at the people who came to
America, you can learn how newcomers adapted to
the diversity of the physical environment. As
communities began to develop, people played
a big part in
