Title: The Kingdom of God Acts 1: 1-12
1The Kingdom of GodActs 1 1-12
2Acts 1 1- 4
In my first book, Theophilus, I wrote about what
Jesus began to do and teach. This included
everything from the beginning of his life until
the day he was taken to heaven. Before he was
taken to heaven, he gave instructions through the
Holy Spirit to the apostles, whom he had chosen.
After his death Jesus showed the apostles a lot
of convincing evidence that he was alive. For
40 days he appeared to them and talked with them
about the kingdom of God. Once, while he was
meeting with them, he ordered them not to leave
Jerusalem but to wait there for what the Father
had promised.
3Acts 1 5-8
Jesus said to them, "I've told you what the
Father promises John baptized with water, but in
a few days you will be baptized with the Holy
Spirit. So when the apostles came together, they
asked him, "Lord, is this the time when you're
going to restore the kingdom to Israel?" Jesus
told them, "You don't need to know about times or
periods that the Father has determined by his own
authority. But you will receive power when the
Holy Spirit comes to you. Then you will be my
witnesses to testify about me in Jerusalem,
throughout Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of
the earth.
4Acts 1 9-12
After he had said this, he was taken to heaven. A
cloud hid him so that they could no longer see
him. They were staring into the sky as he
departed. Suddenly, two men in white clothes
stood near them. They asked, "Why are you men
from Galilee standing here looking at the sky?
Jesus, who was taken from you to heaven, will
come back in the same way that you saw him go to
heaven." Then they returned to Jerusalem from
the mountain called the Mount of Olives. It is
near Jerusalem, about half a mile away.
5Introduction
Preaching about Jesus Christ is a vital and
essential part of preaching the gospel of the
Kingdom, because He is our only way into the
Kingdom.
- Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and
the life. No one comes to the Father except
through Me. - John 14 6
-
6The Resurrection of Jesus The Christ
The Resurrection of The Lord Jesus Christ proves
that the Kingdom of God is here Romans 1
1-3 From Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus. God
chose me to be an apostle, and he appointed me to
preach the good news that he promised long ago by
what his prophets said in the holy Scriptures.
This good news is about his Son, our Lord Jesus
Christ! As a human, he was from the family of
David. But the Holy Spirit proved that Jesus is
the powerful Son of God, because he was raised
from death.
7 We are in The Kingdom, .......Yet!!
- Just because we place our faith in Christ,
however, does not mean that we automatically
understand either what it means to be a citizen
of the Kingdom or how to live like one.
8 Many Live In Ignorance
- The Unfortunate thing is that many in the Church
- have discovered the King but they have no clue
about the Kingdom that He came to bring to
mankind.
9 Preaching The Kingdom
- During the past sixteen years I can recollect
only two occasions on which I have heard sermons
specifically devoted to the theme of the Kingdom
of God. . . . I find this silence rather
surprising because it is universally agreed by
New Testament scholars that the central theme of
the teaching of Jesus was the Kingdom of God. - quoting Dr. I. Howard Marshall of the
University of Aberdeen - Dallas Willard, The Divine Conspiracy, 59.
-
10 The Life Meant for Us
- The Kingdom is life itself. . . . and The king
is the central component of a kingdom and
embodies the essence of the kingdom. -
11It is an Assignment
- Fulfilling the assignment of preaching the
Kingdom is the key to the timing of the return of
Christ. Jesus said that the end will come after
the gospel of the Kingdom is preached to all
nations. . . . The fact that Jesus has not come
back yet is proof that His assignment, which He
delegated to His followers in every generation,
has not yet been fulfilled. - Dr Myles Munroe
-
12The Churchs Responsibility
- How many churches today are actively and
conscientiously preaching the gospel of . . . .
the Kingdom of God? Not just any message will
do. . . . Jesus will return only when the message
of the Kingdom has been proclaimed in all the
earth, and that proclamation is the Churchs
responsibility?
13The Gospel and the End
- Matthew 2414
- And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached
in the whole world as a testimony to all nations,
and then the end will come. - Jesus Christ
-
14 The True Gospel
- The gospel of the Kingdom is the only true
gospel. Anything else we preach is not the true
gospel, or at least, not the complete gospel.
15Jesus Preached the Kingdom
- Matthew 935
- Then Jesus went about all the cities and
villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching
the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every
sickness and every disease among the people - Jesus Christ
- Teach----To Instruct for Transformation
- Preach----To Declare
-
16 Jesus Sent the Disciples to Preach The Kingdom.
- Matthew 105-8
- These twelve Jesus sent forth, and charged them,
saying, - Go not into any way of the Gentiles, and enter
not into any - city of the Samaritans but go rather to the
lost sheep of the - house of Israel. And as ye go, preach, saying,
The kingdom - of heaven is at hand. Heal the sick, raise the
dead, cleanse - the lepers, cast out demons freely ye received,
freely give. -

17Paul Preached the Kingdom
- Acts 2830
- Then Paul dwelt for two whole years in his own
rented house, and received all who came him,
preaching the Kingdom of God and teaching the
things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ with
all confidence, no one forbidding him -
18 19How to Enter the Kingdom
- He was in the world, and the world was made by
him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his
own, and his own received him not. - But as many as received him, to them gave he
power to become the sons of God, even to them
that believe on his name - Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of
the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. - John 1 10-13
-
20 You Must Be Born Again !!! Says Jesus
- Jesus answered and said to him, "Most assuredly,
I say to you, unless someone is born again, he
cannot see the kingdom of God." - Nicodemus said to Him, "How can a man be born,
being old? Can he enter a second time into his
mother's womb and be born?" -
John 3 3-4
21 - Jesus answered, "Most assuredly, I say to you,
unless someone is born of water and of Spirit, he
cannot enter the kingdom of God. - That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and
that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do
not marvel that I said to you, 'You must be born
again.' - "The wind blows where it wills, and you hear its
sound, but you do not know from where it comes
and where it goes. So is everyone who has been
born of the Spirit." - Nicodemus answered and said to Him, "How can
these things be? - John 3 5-9
22 Apostle Paul saysRom 10 8 -13
- But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even
in thy mouth, and in thy heart that is, the word
of faith, which we preach - That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the
Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that
God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be
saved. For with the heart man believeth unto
righteousness and with the mouth confession is
made unto salvation. For the scripture saith,
Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
For there is no difference between the Jew and
the Greek for the same Lord over all is rich
unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall
call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. -
