HOW DO WE KNOW GOD?
  • ORIGINS OF THE CREATOR
  • PROOFS OF THE CREATOR
  • ATTRIBUTES OF THE CREATOR

5
Origins of the Creator
1
6
Genesis 11
In the beginning God created the heavens and the
earth.
7
Origins of the Creator
  • Genesis 11 Science demonstrate that the
    universe has a definite beginning.
  • Time, space, matter, energy all began at some
    definite point.
  • Scientific Evidence supports thisand the Bible
    claims it!

8
Origins of the Creator
  • People argue that nothing comes from nothing. I
    couldnt agree more!
  • Origins of the Creator is that He is the
    Self-existent One.
  • He has always existed.
  • He is eternal.
  • He is outside of time, matter, energy and space.

God needs no beginning.
9
Origins of the Creator
  • God replied to Moses, I AM WHO I AM. ( or I AM
because I AM) This is what you are to say to the
Israelites I AM has sent me to you.
  • Ex 314 (HCSB)

God needs no beginning.
10
Proofs of the Creator
2
11
Proofs of a Creator
  • What keeps us from
  • knowing God?
  • What keeps us from
  • seeing God?

12
Proofs of a Creator
  • The fool says in his heart, God does not exist.
  • Psalms 141 (HCSB)

13
Proofs of the Creator
  • First, be aware of this scoffers will come in
    the last
  • days to scoff, following their own lusts,
    4 saying,
  • Where is the promise of His coming? For ever
    since
  • the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as
    they
  • have been since the beginning of creation.
    5 They
  • willfully ignore this long ago the heavens and
    the
  • earth existed out of water and through water by
    the
  • word of God
  • 2 Peter 33-5 (HCSB)

14
Proofs of the Creator
  • Inner Sense Argument
  • Cosmological Argument
  • Teleological Argument
  • Moral Argument
  • Scriptural Argument

15
Proofs of the Creator
  • INNER SENSE ARGUMENT There seems to be an inner
sense of God in all people. As if a Creator
embedded this into the genetic code of life.
    (Romans 1)
  • COSMOLOGICAL ARGUMENT The theory of first cause
supports a supernatural designer. The first cause
of creation is God the Creator. (Genesis 11)
  • He is the first cause of all things. First cause
    of space, time, variety, complexity,
    consciousness, felling, will, ethics, values,
righteousness, justice, holiness, love, life etc.

16
Proofs of the Creator
  • Teleological Argument Creation gives evidence
of harmony, order, and design which supports an
intelligence purpose behind all of life. Random
processes simply cannot logically explain life.
    (Genesis 1)
  • Ontological Argument Our existence must belong
to a supernatural being because it is greater to
exist than not to exist. It is unimaginable and
illogical to say there is no God. (Psalm 141)

17
Proofs of the Creator
  • Moral Argument Sense of right and wrong
    embedded in all people.
  • Scriptural Argument The Bible leads to no other
conclusion than a Creator God. (Genesis 1 John
    1)

18
Proofs of the Creator
  • For Gods wrath is revealed from heaven
  • against all godlessness and unrighteous-
  • ness of people who by their unrighteous-
  • ness suppress the truth, 19 since what
  • can be known about God is evident
  • among them, because God has shown it
  • to them.
  • Romans 118-19 (HCSB)

19
