Early life

• The actual date that Samuel de Champlain was born
  is unknown. Some sources say 1567 and 1570. He
  was born in Brouage, France. He grew up very poor
  for that time but grew wealthy later on.

Life on the sea

• Samuel de Champlain sailed for the country of
  France. He began sailing in 1603, financed by
  King Louis XIII. He was sent to Canada in order
  to establish a colony and to establish a fur
  trade. He made a total of 21 voyages in his
  lifetime.

Results of his voyage

• Champlain discovered the inner parts of the St.
  Lawrence river and founded cities for France. He
  also discovered a body of water he named after
  himself. This influenced the world greatly
  because he made the first accurate map of the
  Canadian coast.

• Samuel de Champlain s life span was 1567- 1635.
  He died of a stroke on Christmas Day.
