The Bystander
  • Have you ever
  • Laughed at a joke that was made about someone
    else?
  • Passed on a rumour that you heard?
  • Let someone work alone in group work,
    purposefully?
  • Seen something you know is wrong, but pretended
    you havent seen it?

Being a bystander can make someone feel isolated
and alone. If you didnt start it, are you
stopping it?

Top tips online
  • Try to think carefully before you write things
online or on a phone, people can get the wrong
    end of the stick
  • Respect other peoples views and feelings just
because you dont agree with them, it doesnt
mean you have to be rude or abusive
  • Think about digital fingerprints you leave
    behind!
  • If you see something you dont like, report it!

7
What support is there for me?
  • (apart from teachers and friends of course!)

8
LO4EO
  • LO4EO is our anonymous email system in school.
You can find it in the school address book
  • You can email any concerns your have about
    bullying and report incidents
  • You only have to add your name if you wish to.
  • You could be helping someone who may desperately
need your support, which is a great way to look
    out for each other

9
Peer mentoring
  • Our peer mentors in school are in the Archbishop
Rowan Williams Room every break time.
  • If you need someone to talk to, just drop in. No
appointment is needed! Anyone is always welcome.
  • They can speak up on your behalf, or just sit and
chat with you for a while.

10
What about when I get home?

    and young people.

goes direct to the police for further
    investigation of abuse or harassment.

that you can call whenever you need to talk to an

  • Having mutual respect and looking out for each
other supports a core value of our school
    society
  • We all have the right to be treated fairly and
with respect. We should be accepted for who we
are and be free of negative peer pressure.

15
  • Stop, dont start
  • Include, dont isolate
  • Look out, dont look away
  • Use technology, dont abuse technology
