• Patsy called Police but did not tell them the
  letter said Jonbenet would be beheaded if she did

  told to search the home
• Found with rigor mortis
• Found practice ransom note in house
• John Ramsey had hired a lawyer by the end of the
  day

Forensics Used

• Handwriting analysis
• - Family members, workers at Johns
  business
• Perfect lip prints on the tape put over her mouth
  suggests the tape was placed there after she
  was dead cover up

Forensics Continued

• Footprints
• - 2 prints in the wine cellar
• - 1 print found on a suitcase and another near
  a window
• Rope found in adjacent room that did not match
  any on the property

• DNA on underwear of Jonbenet has unknown source
• Fingernails contain foreign DNA

• 38 registered sex offenders living within a 2
  mile radius of their home
