What is Nanotechnology?

• Nano 1 Billionth, therefore a nanometer is one
  billionth of a meter
• Nanotechnology- any technology that exploits
  phenomena and structures that can only occur at
  the nanometer scale

• Nanomagnet an extremely small magnet that can
  transfer information
• Nanomagnets are predicted to one day replace
  transistors in computers

• Concept uses an alternating north-south
  polarity to rapidly transfer information down a
  chain of nanomagnets
