2History of the IMC
- Club founded in 1999 by
- Maj Mark Said Maj Alex Dalli
- The first Club Microlight was a Thruster with
- callsign 9H-UMC
- Used to operate from Ta Qali unused
- Airforce airfield
- Flight training at that time was allowed to
- operate only below 500 ft.

- Some years later, the club commenced operations
from the Malta International Airport.

- Since then flights are performed at 1,500 ft and
below. - During 2010 Maj Alex Dalli resigned from the
club whilst Maj Mark Said handed over the
operations of the club - to the members to form a new committee.
7History of the IMC
- Flight training is now undertaken by Buzz Flight
Training, an independent training school which is
an associate member of the IMC - The role of the Club is to foster the Microlight
Flying Sport in Malta by organising activities
and providing technical assistance to the
members, and pilot/owners.

9Information about IMC
- Presently we have 30 active members of whom 22
are aircraft owners - We have 14 airworthy aircrafts and these range
from X-Airs, Savannahs, Fly Synthesis Storch,
Skyranger, Thruster, Flylab Tucano, Polaris Skin,
Tecnam P92 Echo and Eurostar.

14Information about Microlight Flying in Malta
- We fly from an International Airport thus all
licensed pilots have to be in possession of the
following- - A valid Certificate of Validation
- Medical certificate JAR-FCL Class Two,
- Radio Telephony operators License
15Information about Microlight Flying in Malta
- English language Proficiency certificate at least
ICAO level 4 - Installed on board Transponder Mode C
- Have undertaken and passed a Proficiency Test
with an Examiner authorised by the CAD.
