• New live music production course arcs up

• Shepparton students who are passionate about live
  music can now take the first step in their
  production careers with a new GOTAFE course
  starting up in Shepparton.
•  
• Part of the GRADA (GOTAFE Regional Academy of
  Dramatic Arts) course offering, the new
  music-specific live production course will
  provide industry training for people who manage
  all the backstage aspects of live events, like
  mics, sound balancing, bumping in and bumping
  out, and how to get great live recordings.
•  
• With an emphasis on music production, the course
  will also include mix-and-match elective
  components that a typical production role would
  require, such as OH S, lighting, stage
  management and even forklift operation.
•  
• For Bill Evans, Live Production Trainer, this is
  his passion.
•  
• This is a qualification for roadies, said Bill.
•

• It tells employers that you know what youre
  doing when youre on the job, that you know about
  safety and how to handle staging equipment and
  reliably produce great music.
•  
• With both part-time and full-time options, the
  course includes some online options and some
  visits to GRADA in Benalla.
•  
• Students will do most of their units in
  Shepparton and through work placement with a
  local audio events company.
•  
• This course will give students some key skills
  that can be used all over the live events and
  music industry, from pub gigs, to church
  weddings, to conferences, said Nic Booth, Head
  of Live Production, GRADA.

• Its a great opportunity for someone who has a
  passion for live music.
