When to Use a Comma

1. Use a comma to separate periods (every 3 digits)
   in PLACE VALUE.
2. Use a comma to separate information in the DATE.
3. Use a comma to separate specific information
   about a LOCATION.
4. Use a comma to separate LISTS of words.
5. Use a comma after the greeting and closing in a
   FRIENDLY LETTER.
6. Use a comma before a conjunction in a COMPUND
   SENTENCE.
7. Use a comma when you INTERRUPT the sentence to
   give extra information.

  the remaining sentence.
