Class Objective

• This class is designed to establish a foundation
  in health and study skills, while emphasizing the
  holistic approach to wellness.
• To earn a grade in Health Education Study
  Skills at Union Mine H.S. a student will be ready
  to actively participate every day.

HEALTH EDUCATION

• Health Education will explore mental, social, and
  physical health. Health Education is comprised
  of eight sections Personal Health,
  Nutrition/Fitness, Environmental Health, Accident
  Prevention/First Aid/CPR, Substance Use and
  Misuse Unit/Truth in Advertising, Violence
  Prevention, Family Life Unit, and Disease Unit.

Study Skills

• The course covers various techniques in
  Organization, Goal Setting, Time Management, Note
  Taking, Problem Solving, Test Taking, and Project
  Development

Discipline at U.M.H.S. All student will be
treated as young adults and will be expected to
(1) RESPECT others, the school, and supplies, (2)
be ACCOUNTABLE for ones actions, and (3) have a
good ATTITUDE.
