APPROVAL OF CHECK AIRMEN

• Check airman are approved
• Instructors must meet qualifying criteria
• Instructors performance subject to evaluation

CHECK AIRMAN REQUIREMENTS

• Certificate and ratings to act as PIC on type
• Class I medical certificate
• Completed operators approved flight instructor
  and check airman qualification program
• Fully qualified to serve as PIC and line current
• Achieve and maintain favourable record
• Demonstrate to an inspector the ability to
  conduct checks

• Proficiency Check Pilot - Aircraft
• Proficiency Check Pilot - Simulator
• Line Check Pilot
• Check Pilot - All Checks
• Check Flight Engineer - Aircraft Only
• Check Flight Engineer - All Checks

CHECK AIRMAN APPROVAL PROCESS

• Letter from Operator with resume, copies of
  qualifications/training
• Review documentation and interview
• Observe applicant conducting checks
• Letter of approval

CHECK AIRMAN EVALUATION

• Can be no question as to the Airmans skills
• Inspector familiar with SOPs
• Pre-evaluation briefing
• Observe the check and debrief
• Decision and follow up

PERIODIC RENEWAL

• At least one month prior letter requesting
  renewal
• Copies of checks provided and proposed date for
  renewal established
• Review check numbers and quality
• Schedule, observe and follow up

FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR

• Not approved but meets qualifications
• Hold ATPL and qualified to serve as PIC
• Class 1 Medical
• Line current and line check
• Receive flight instructor qualification training
• Same requirements applicable for Flight Engineer
• Ground Instructors - monitor
