Club and Membership Correlation
  • A extremely close correlation between club
development and membership figures is evident.
  • Valid in both aspects increasing and loosing
are clubs and members at the same time.
  • Since 2004 there has been a decline in membership
and the potential for growth has not been fully
    realized.
  • The statistics are based on 80 of the researched
    clubs and members.

15
Analysis and Conclusion Eastern Europe
  • LCI succeeded in reaching above average growth in
Eastern Europe. From 2000 to 2003, when LCI
suffered big losses on a global level, 20 growth
    was achieved in Eastern Europe.
  • Russia experienced a negative trend, losing clubs
and members resulting in a 50 loss.
  • The number of women Lion is on target at 27 thus
meeting the objective of Women in Lions
    program.

16
What do Lions need in Eastern Europe
  • Basic information and working materials.
  • Leadership training on all District-Levels.
  • Assistance by experienced Certified Guiding Lions
to meet the needs and the challenges of Eastern
European Lions. These Lions will work directly
with local Lions so Lions learn through
    participation. (learn by doing)
  • Talk with them, not about them. Bond with them
    through fellowship.
  • Support realistic and timely objectives.
  • Provide monthly overviews to ensure appropriate
    and successful developments. (reporting
    system).

What are our goals in Eastern Europe
  • In the future as a result of this European
development, the number of Lion will more than
double within the next 5 years.
  • I am personally convinced, that a growth between
    15 and 20 p.a. is achievable.This means that
the teams would have to build for example

31
What are our targets in Eastern Europe
  • This ongoing process in eastern Europe needs
continuous re-evaluation to ensure that this
membership increase is achieved and indeed more
    than doubles.
  • This process needs systematic continuous
reevaluation so our development will multiply.

It goes without saying that the countries of
Eastern Europe are already at the threshold of a
rapid development, which political and economic
cooperation could only accelerate.
32
What are our targets in Eastern Europe
  • By implementing training at every level we can
establish the know-how that leads to better
    understanding, stronger motivation and structural
    improvements.
  • This would foster a deep understanding of who we
are as Lions. This in turn will make us live be
the the Motto We Serve. We have yet to uncover
fully the potential of the Lions of eastern
Europe. Thus WE MUST MOVE TO GROW!

33
  • Motivation will help us grow!
  • Let us move together for a stronger
Constitutional Area of Europe as an important
    part of the whole!
