What is texture?
  • Texture is an image with certain properties
  • Locality small parts look alike
  • Stochastic they never look exactly the same

Texture synthesis
  • We often need large texture images
  • Want to create them from small samples
  • Just tiling the samples is not good enough

  • We want non-periodic tiling
  • Use Wang Tiles!

  • Adjacent edges have matching colors
