Relations Program and the Faculty of Arts have
established a student exchange program with the
Department of History at Laval University in
Québec City. This is a unique opportunity to
enrich U. of C. students academic life and
cultural immersion experience. Deadlines for

Benefits Full time study (4 or 5 half course
equivalents minimum of 12 credits, half of which
in History) 1 or 2 sessions (fall and / or
winter semesters) Small class
ratio Possibility to remit term papers in
English Possibility to participate in a free
preparatory French language course (five-week
French language intensive program is offered
from mid-July to mid-August prior to the
exchange) access to other language
courses Guaranteed Room in Student Residences
on Campus Student Card Privileges (Library,
Sports Facility Equipment, etc.) Funds may be
available to assist students travel. Requiremen
ts 1. Undergraduate students must have completed
their first year or equivalent as History or IR
majors 2. They should have a minimum GPA of 3.3
with the assistance and approval of the
Calgary-Laval Student Exchange Program
coordinator, they should provide a list of first
and second choice courses authorized by Laval
University for the desired session (for
each, a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 5, per

ey should provide the following documents An
official transcript a birth certificate or a
proof of citizenship a letter of intent (200
words) a letter of reference from a Faculty
member to assess their suitability for an
academic exchange with the host
institution 4. They should demonstrate a
sufficient knowledge of French to this end the
University of Calgary offers a language placement
examination.
