  • About one third of the worlds wool comes from
    Australia.
  • Oz is a country and a continent.
  • The largest city in Oz is Sydney.
  • The three main biomes are desert, grassland, and
    rainforest.
  • In Oz one of the largest farms called a station
    is as big as Michigan

  • One of the most famous landmarks in Australia is
    called Uluru.
  • Australia is the smallest continent.
  • One of Australias states is an island called
    Tasmania.

Flag and Facts
  • The Union Jack is in the upper left hand corner
    of the flag.
  • The small white stars are the Southern Cross
    which can always be seen at night.
  • It is called the Commonwealth Blue Ensign.

  • The aborigines thought that spirits created the
    earth.
  • Aborigines have lived in Australia for over
    40,000 years.
  • They built shelters out of tree branches.
