Objectives

• Allow a DJ or party host to set up a playlist for
  a party
• Guests connect to our system to "cast votes" on
  the playlist songs
• Playlist is sorted by vote, so popular songs are
  played more often

Competitive Analysis

• Pandora
• Makes song suggestions based on a user's favorite
  songs
• Requires user input
• Internet based service (with mobile apps)

• Gets songs from friend's iTunes libraries and
  makes suggestions to the user based on that
• Integrated with iTunes but not with radio

• Allows users to vote on what song to play out of
  a playlist selected by leader

Test Results

Lessons Learned

• Solidify idea early on
• Lost a lot of time in deciding on idea
• Lost more time when we needed to change
  idea/order different parts
• Check for hardware limitations 
• Bluetooth module can only connect to one device
  at a time
• SRAM is tiny, had to restructure firmware to use
  minimal memory
• Bluetooth speakers are not robust
• Difficult to search for/connect/disconnect from
  reliably
