AMCVIS
Advanced, Multi-Crew, Vehicle Intercom System
In our decade of experience with the CAT AMCVIS
it has proven to be reliable, rugged, and built
to perform in the harshest of battlefield
conditions.  The AMCVIS is flexible to install,
easy to maintain, and provides an intuitive user
interface. - USASOC, Ft Bragg 01/2006

AMCVIS Iridium, GlobalStar, and MSAT Interface
Option
  • An AMCVIS can be linked to commercial and
    military satellite radios.
  • Example XTS-5000 portable, XTL-5000 mobile or
SINCGARS are connected to the AMCVIS radio ports
an MSAT G2 satellite radio connected to a 3rd
AMCVIS port. The vehicle commander can select to
have deployed personnel with hand-held radios
"talk" through the AMCVIS to the satellite radio
  • Commander can transmit on both L-O-S radio(s) and
satellite radio simultaneously from his headset
    or an H-350/H handset.
  • VOX circuits are enabled to key the satellite
radio and buffer/delay the audio to deal with
    latency of the satellite link.

AMCVIS Dismounted Soldier - Wireless
  • 2.4GHz, SSDS, TDMA, duplex radio
  • A squad member can dismount, maintaining a
wireless link to the wired personnel aboard the
    vehicle and the intercom-connected radios.
  • Dismounted soldiers controls are identical to
    the mounted warriors.
  • Line-of-sight range (IMU-to-warfighter) is 900
feet Range with the IMU inside a vehicle without
    external antenna is 250 feet

AMCVIS Additional Capabilities Interoperability/R

Drawing produced by 160th at Ft. Campbell
  • Additional circuit (already produced and fielded)
the AMCVIS and AMCVIS-D can function as a
    interoperability bridge.
  • Example MBITR and SINCGARS are connected to the
two AMCVIS radio ports, the Commander can select
to have these two units "talk" to one another
(patented VOX circuits are enabled to key the
radios) making the IMU a repeater to extend range
    of the MBITR.
  • Commander can transmit on both radio
simultaneously from his headset or an H-350/H
    handset.
  • Bridge functions now deployed by USASOC, WMD-CST,
Pentagon Force Protection, JFCOM, CONUS base fire
departments. CWID 05 special recognition, JITC
    DICE 06

Mounting Options
  • The IMU is designed for rapid installation and
removal. Each unit is supplied with mounting
    hardware based on user specifications.
  • Brackets for over-head mounting or plates for
surface mounting in vehicle or aircraft are
constructed of 0.09 aluminum (drill hole
    template provided with IMU).
  • Low mass permits Industrial strength VelcroTM
to be used for temporary installations.

Comments from the Field
  •  systems you sent are currently employed in the
AOR and are performing flawlessly.  The troops
love them and Im quite sure the bad guys hate
them.  The situational awareness they provide the
    vehicle crew is a lifesaver.
  • again thanks for the great support you and your
    employees are providing us.
