2Feature-Based Modeling Create parts
assemblies by defining high level physically
meaningful features. The feature is first
sketched in two dimensions, then either extruded,
revolved, or swept to form the 3-D object. When
sketching the feature, design intent is developed
in the model by dimensioning and constraining the
sketch. Features are predefined or sketched.
Predefined features include holes, rounds, and
chamfers.
3Parametric Modeling Concept Physical shape is
driven by the values assigned to the attributes
(primary dimensions) of its features.Solid
Modeling Features Models contain all the
information that a real solid object would have.

8Model Tree Graphical model tree lists in
chronological order all features that make up a
part or assembly. A features definition can be
modified by selecting it form the model tree
using the Edit Definition command.
9Datum Plane gt Flat sketching surface. gt Used to
locate features. gt Used to create new
features.
