• Discovered by Jons Jacob Berzulies and Wilhelm
  Hisinger in 1803
• It was isolated from a mineral from an iron mine
  at Bastns
• Named after the asteroid Ceres
• The most common kind of cerium, monazite, is
  found in India, Brazil, Australia, and Africa
• We can obtain this element by isolating it from
  iron ore.
